Kitchenshop.com Warranty Information All items that we carry are covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty. Below, we have listed the details of those warranties and some helpful care and cleaning instructions for Kitchenshop.com products.Cookware Warranty Viking 7-Ply cookware, Berndes Signocast non stick cookware, Cuisinart multi-ply cookware and Scanpan Classic non stick cookware are covered by a lifetime warranty. If the product fails due to defects in material or workmanship within the lifetime of the purchaser, it will be repaired or replaced at no charge excluding shipping and handling charges.Care and Use of Stainless Steel Cookware Please wash your cookware before using to remove any residue or oils left from the final polishing process. Your pans will clean very easily with a sponge, dishwashing soap and warm water. After using your pan, the 18/10 stainless steel cleans easily with soap and water. For the occasional difficult spots, clean with any stainless steel & copper cleaner available at your local grocery or department store.Care and Use of Non-Stick Cookware Prepare the pan initially by washing with hot soapy water and a sponge or dishcloth. Unlike cast iron, no seasoning is required. To remove stickers and/or labels from the pans, first try rubbing the "sticky" off with your fingers. If this fails, we recommend trying "Goo-Gone" or "WD-40". Never use any sharp or abrasive items, as this will harm the finish.Non-stick coating requires only soap and warm water for cleaning. It is not recommended that you put Berndes non-stick cookware in the dishwasher, as it can cause the cooking surface to lose its nonstick properties and the handles to dry and crack. For cleaning cookware bottoms, try a non-abrasive, creamy cleanser such as "Soft Scrub." Scanpan Classic can be washed in the dishwasher. However, to maintain the patina of the pan we recommend hand washing with soap and warm water. Kitchenshop.com recommends the use of plastic, wooden or nylon utensils to preserve the longevity of the non-stick coating. Metal utensils are not recommended. Do not cut food in your non-stick pan. Because cast aluminum is such an efficient heat conductor, it is recommended that you allow your pan to heat for a few minutes before adding food. It is also advised that a lower heat setting be used than you use with other cookware. China Warranty Any defects in china decoration must be identified and returned within 15 days and prior to any use. Please complete our Return Request form for defective china. There are no warranty provisions for any used china pieces.Care and Use of Kitchenshop.com Fine China Although we recommend hand washing, many modern dishwashers offer a gentle "China" or "Crystal" setting, which may also be used.Caution: Do not use normal dishwashing soaps/detergents in mechanical dishwashers with your fine china. The harsh chemicals will cause pitting and discoloration. Use only mild detergents specially made for fine china. Carefully follow the recommendations of the dishwasher and detergent manufacturers. Do not allow the pieces to touch one another. When storing your fine china, do not stack plates without inserting a paper or cloth divider between each plate. Do not stack cups inside of each other. Do not use an abrasive pad like steel wool to remove sticky or dried food. Soak the china in a mild detergent and wipe clean with a sponge. Never use your gold or platinum trimmed china in the microwave. Fine china without metallic (e.g., gold or platinum) trim can be used in the microwave for gentle warming. We do not recommend cooking items in the microwave on your fine china. Your china is oven-proof to 350 degrees, but avoid sudden temperature changes. Be certain all pieces are at room temperature before washing. Cutlery All cutlery is covered by a limited warranty against defects in materials. Improper use, storage, cleaning or handling voids all warranty coverage.Care and Use of Cutlery Before your first use, clean your knives with soap and water. This will remove any manufacturing residue. Clean your knives after every use. Do not let food or condiments dry on the knife. They can stain the blade.Use the correct size and type of knife for the job. Maintain a good edge on your knives by using a steel or sharpening stone. It’s far easier to maintain a sharp edge than it is to return an edge to a dull knife. Sharp knives are also easier to use with less pressure required for cutting. After using a knife, place it in a clear area with the blade facing away from you. Never try to catch a falling knife. Do not put your knives in the dishwasher. Harsh detergents are hard on the knives and the knife edge may be nicked hitting other items. Handles may split or crack and separate from the blade. Wipe the knife blade clean with a wet sponge or wet cloth using a dishwashing detergent. Dry the knife immediately after washing. Store your knives in a knife holder such as a countertop knife block or carousel or in a drawer with a knife tray. This prevents the knives from hitting each other which causes nicked blades and scratched handles. It also ensures your safety when reaching for a knife.
